The people at RE·CM are our most important asset. They are the foundation of our business. They are also part-owners of the business. We all share a great passion for investing and we work hard to ensure that we apply our collective experience to placing our clients’ interests first.
We recruit people that are naturally contrarian and who aspire to the highest ethical levels.
Regardless of our specific roles, we understand that client service is a responsibility borne by each of us. When contacting RE·CM, it is important that you feel you have direct access to all the decision makers. You will always speak to an owner, not a call centre.

DANIEL MALAN, Chief Investment OfficerB Com (Math), CFADaniel learned the value of direct client relationships and taking responsibility for your actions during a two year tenure with a stock broking firm in Cape Town in 1996/7. Four years of international experience took him to Montreal and London, where he gained a better understanding of the short term madness of crowds in the price discovery mechanism of markets. Daniel finally found investment 'religion' in the philosophy of valuation based investing in 2001, before rejoining former colleague Piet Viljoen at RE·CM in 2003. Daniel is obsessively curious about the way things work, the forces that shape change and understanding the fine balance between the two. |
